Esperanza Camacho, better known as Pelacha, is one of the most respected figures in Spanish techno — a DJ and producer with more than three decades of experience. Since her first records in Madrid in the late eighties, she has maintained an unwavering passion for a techno sound that is solid, forward-thinking, and soulful.
Her style is defined by refined technique — vinyl mixing, precise track reading, and a constant search for new textures and sonic nuances — combined with a deep curiosity and a meticulous selection built through decades of musical research. This versatility always comes across as coherent in her sets, guided by a strong sense of groove and connection with the dance floor.
She has performed at some of Europe’s most representative clubs and festivals, including Awakenings (Amsterdam), Final Flash City (Slovenia), Hardhouse (Czech Republic), Boomerang Festival (Slovakia), Tresor (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris), Fabrik (Madrid), FAC (Cuba) and Tillatec (Amsterdam), among others.
Beyond her work as a DJ and producer, Pelacha has been a key figure in Madrid’s techno scene as a promoter, creating events that have consistently brought the latest trends in electronic music to the city.
Over the years, she has introduced international artists, supported innovative projects, and given visibility to emerging talents — helping to build and strengthen the foundations of the Spanish techno movement.
As a demanding record collector, Pelacha runs Redsonja Records — founded in 2010 and distributed by Rubadub from Scotland — as an extension of her vision: to release vinyl and digital works that merge different electronic subgenres while preserving an underground identity. The label’s catalog features artists such as Heiko Laux, Luke Hess, Pablo Bolívar, Fanon Flowers, HD Substance, Error Etica, Mark Broom and Silicon Scally. As a producer, Pelacha has released music on influential imprints including Semantica, Psychoskunk, Lessismore Recordings, Hardtools Records and Hxagrm Records.
Today, after decades leaving her mark, Pelacha continues to look forward — balancing evolution and roots, crafting experiences where technique, sound and intuition converge in a single purpose: to keep techno alive as an art form.
